In this project we constructed a 31’4”x 43’4” cabin using 15 to 16 inch mid span Red pine logs. This cabin features a full scibed log using saddle notched corners. As you can see from the picture, it sits on a walk out basement. All our cabin logs are “first peeled” then dried in our driers to a surface MC (note this does not mean no settling but it significantly reduces the amount of settling from green logs) then prior to build the logs are “finish peeled”.
